Wedding Women Rings in Antique Style

Rings are important in a wedding because they symbolize a unity of two people in a very sacred and beautiful moment. Therefore, when choosing for wedding rings, you should choose the perfect rings which are suitable with your taste and the wedding theme. For example, if your wedding ceremony and party is thrown in antique or classic theme, you should also choose wedding women rings in antique styles. Wedding women rings actually have many styles to choose from. One of them is antique style. The antique style also falls in a number of sub-styles depending on the era where the ring first appeared. The styles include Victories, Edwardian, Art Deco, and Art Nouveau. Every style is made in different periods of times and in different models.

The most common style of wedding women rings is Victorian-style rings. In Victorian era (1830s – 1900) most rings incorporated silver. The style changed to be darker in the middle of this period. Dark jewel were getting popular to express the grave mood that followed the death of the husband of Queen Victoria.  In this era, many rings were trimmed with pearls and colors. Diamonds were obtaining popularity, too. In 1886, world’s premier jeweler, introduce four-or-six prong wedding ring in classic design. Any Victorian-style rings are often paired with vintage lace gowns to create a really classic wedding. After the Victorian era ends, there were an era called Edwardian times or popularly known as beautiful era or “belle epoch” (1900-1920s). In this period, rings were made from platinum or white gold and embellished with diamonds. There were curls and swirls on the rings with delicate and elaborate designs that made them look elegant and romantic as well.

At the same time, Art Nouveau style also developed. This style of wedding women rings had a translucent style of enameling resulting in a stained-glass look. Flower and vine designs were very common. Unlike Victorian or Edwardian style where diamonds were often used, they were rarely used in the Art Nouveau style. Diamonds were popular again in the nearly end of this period. The latest style of antique wedding rings is Art Deco (1920-1940). The Art Deco rings come in geometric shapes with bold patterns such as triangular or square-cut pearls. Platinum and white gold were still in vogue but with a more remarkable panache. Many rings in this era also featured colored stone primarily as accent stone around a bigger diamond.
